Good to know
What to bring
The short answer is closed shoes and a jacket. Everything below is detail — helmets, goggles and water are on us.
Wear
Nothing technical, but two things matter. Sandals and flip-flops are not safe on a buggy or on the loose ground at the viewpoints, and the mountain is colder than town however hot Tirana was when you left it.
- Closed shoes — trainers or boots.
- Long trousers on buggy days. The trails are dusty and the gravel travels.
- A jacket or fleece for the viewpoint, even in August.
- Sunglasses. The jeeps are open-top and the light off the lake is strong.
Bring
- Sunscreen.
- A scarf or buff if you are on a buggy — it keeps the dust off your face.
- A small bag. There is room in the vehicle, but it is shared room.
- Your camera or phone, on a strap or in a pocket that closes.
- Cash or a card for anything you buy along the way, and for the fare itself.
- ID or your passport.
We provide
Included in every fare, with nothing to hire or sign for on the day.
- Helmets and goggles for everyone on a buggy.
- Drinking water.
- A local driver-guide who knows the road.
On the overnight tours
Bedding is provided where you sleep, so bring only what you need for one night: a change of clothes, a towel and anything you take to bed. Pack it small — the space in the jeep is shared with everyone else’s bag.
Before you drive a buggy
Buggy drivers need a valid driving licence and we do check it, so bring the card rather than a photo of it. Passengers must be six or older. Jeep and Hummer tours have no age limit.
